Limitations of Rectifier Instruments

       The main limitations of rectifier instruments are,

1- These are calibrated interms of r.m.s. value of purely sinusoidal waveform hence the reading causes errors if waveform is other than sinusoidal.

2- The reading gets affected due to rectifier resistance.

3- Due to semiconductor nature of diodes, it is temperature sensitive as diode characteristics are temperature dependent.

4- The rectifier capacitance may affect the reading as frequency changes
